What is DME Vehicle Promotion Committee
Background
After several technical research projects for DME fuel production and DME vehicles have been subsidized by various governmental bodies (JOGMEC* / NEDO** and MLIT***) which sum up to 20 billion yen since 1999.
DME Vehicle Promotion Committee (DMEVPC) was voluntarily organized by 17 private companies from various sectors of industry in March 2006 with following main objectives which individual companies are not capable of implementing alone :
- to develop and to research DME vehicles operation
- to develop relevant DME Fuel supply infrastructures and DME distributions / logistics
- the properties of DME fuel / standardization of fuel and filling stations
- Deregulations DME vehicles and DME supply stations
- Safety and endurance tests for whole DME supply chain
- to promote DME vehicles to public and municipality

Sector ( Driving system of the Committee )
4 groups (Vehicle, Fuel, Infrastructure and Planning) will handle practical affairs.
General meeting will be held more than 4 times per year and the progress information will be shared with members.
Group meeting will be held at any time to drive the group schedule.
Seeking new members widely for participating our activities after getting approval of the committee.
Vehicle Group
- Low cost vehicle possible or mass production
- Completion of filling system linked with infrastructure.
Infrastructure Group
- High speed mass filling system.
- Improvement in filling nozzle.
- Filling station
- Downsizing of construction cost.
Fuel Group
- Studying what the properties of automobile fuel should be.
- Abstraction of issues and improvement proposal from DME distribution.
Planning Group
- Abstraction of issues from promotion and PR strategy
- Planning and practice
